Ethnicity studies

Ethnicity Studies  is a peer-reviewed series of ethnicity-related studies and their methodology, published annually in English and Lithuanian by the Institute for Ethnic Studies.

Ethnicity Studies publishes articles on ethnic processes in contemporary societies, emphasizing social science approaches (sociology, anthropology, political science, economics, historical and cultural studies) to the study of ethnicity.

The journal aims to contribute to current debates on nationalism, ethnic identity, ethnic politics, migration and transnationalism, ethnic inequalities, (in)tolerance, discrimination, and policy responses.

Since the first issue of Ethnicity Studies in 2003, the journal has been examining interdisciplinary studies on the concepts of nation, nationality, ethnicity, and minority. We have published thematic issues on processes and of social adaptation and acculturation, social integration, assimilation, on the ethnic dimension of the referenda on EU accession in several Eastern and Central European societies, Russian minorities in the Baltic countries, and other topics.

The international editorial board particularly welcomes contributions that address contemporary questions of ethnicity and nationalism in Central and Eastern Europe, but the scope of the journal is not limited to this region. Researchers working on ethnicity in other regions are welcome to contribute.
